Three-time Indy 500 winner Helio Castroneves had the fastest speed of 227.046 mph for Penske Racing during the second practice session Sunday afternoon at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Will Power (225.600), Tony Kanaan (225.524) and Mario Moraes (225.043) also topped Castroneves’ 2009 pole speed of 224.864, a four-lap average.

Danica Patrick had a top speed of 223.382 which ranked 13th on the daily speed chart.

Earlier in the afternoon, Simona De Silvestro completed rookie orientation:
“Being here at Indy, it’s something pretty special,” she said.

Gates open at 9 a.m. tomorrow and practice runs from noon to 6 p.m.
